The Westec Health Management System (HMS) monitors major components of the iVR several times throughout the day and critical components real-time over the network. The HMS platform remotely monitors critical points throughout the iVR, from hardware to software. HMS manages thresholds for each component requiring a help desk notification, service support or continued monitoring. HMS will monitor components over several days, watching a system trend, and predicting a problem prior to complete failure. HMS is designed to provide a complete view of remote iVR systems enterprise wide and prevent system failure through preventive maintenance.

HMS manages the core iVR BIOS through a managed update process requiring a system reboot to initialize. In an effort to recognize applications that are not clearing memory or foreign applications that should not be running on the iVR, HMS manages physical RAM consumption by monitoring fluctuations that could affect the iVR stability. To manage external drives, thumb drives or USB devices connected to the iVR, HMS constantly monitors internal and external physical drives.

HMS monitors and manages drive utilization tracking activity as well as low drive space issues.  The iVR is always writing temporary files to the operating system drive. This requires the iVR to always have drive availability, or cause a swap drive system failure.  If a user outputs a large video file to the operating system drive (c:/) filling the drive, the iVR could be permanently damaged requiring a rebuild.

A challenge for any computer is keeping drives and processors cool. HMS manages the primary and secondary fan speed, core temperature, processor temperature and much more. It is equally important that the iVR power supply sustains constant regulated voltage to the motherboard and hard drives. Power fluctuations represent iVR instability or a power supply on the verge of failure.  A power supply failure will potentially damage other components and require onsite service.

The operating system of the iVR is continuously monitored for system irregularities. The iVR operating system functions on a layered system which offers the stability of an embedded solution by always booting into a fresh unaffected configuration. If HMS recognizes instability in the operating system, a self healing process will correct any issues and reboot the iVR fresh. In the case of an operating system failure, a disaster recover solution is available for iVR rebuild.
