Gerald T. Vento

Westec Acquisition Corp., founded by Gerald T. Vento, acquired Westec InterActive Security, Inc., in October 2004, which includes the merged operations of Level 5 Security, a company he founded in 2003. Vento, who has spent more than 20 years building companies in the cable, telephony and wireless businesses, has a long history of founding, funding, and operating successful service companies. Most recently Vento grew TeleCorp PCS (NASDAQ:TLCP), a company he founded in 1997, to over 1 million subscribers and generated annual revenues in excess of $1 billion; he then sold to AT&T Wireless in October of 2002 for $5.7 billion. Prior to TeleCorp, Vento served as vice-chairman and CEO of Sprint Spectrum and was the managing general partner in a joint venture with The Washington Post Company for the build-out of cable systems in the US and the UK. In addition, Vento served in government at the state and federal levels; in two state regulatory posts, and at the White House, completing Presidential assignments in Egypt, Japan, West Germany, France, Brazil, Italy and Africa.
